Covalentteam is a product of Green Guava Tree. It is for the engineering manager who is answerable for how a team is doing and has nowhere honest to look.
What it is for
The work a team does leaves a trail across GitHub — pull requests opened, reviews asked for and given, issues picked up and put down. Read one at a time it says very little. Read together, over a month, it says who is carrying what, where a review is waiting on somebody, and which piece of work has gone quiet without anybody deciding it should.
Covalentteam assembles that into a team view, and keeps the one-to-one notes and follow-ups beside it, so preparing for a conversation is not an evening spent scrolling through a repository.
What it is not
- Not a productivity score. There is no ranking of your colleagues and no number standing in for one of them.
- Not a surveillance tool. It reads what GitHub already shows anybody in the organisation, and never the contents of your code.
- Not a system of record. Activity ages out after a month, on purpose, because a team is a thing now and not an archive.
How it is built
It runs entirely on Cloudflare’s edge, reads GitHub through a GitHub App rather than a personal token, and holds no credential it did not need. When you erase a team it deletes the records rather than marking them dead.
